Domestic Shipping FAQs
Whether shipping a single work across the country or an entire exhibition regionally, understanding the logistics is key to a smooth process. These FAQs cover our shuttle options, timelines, and how we secure artwork for highway travel.
What is the difference between an art shuttle and an exclusive truck?
An art shuttle is a consolidated service where your work shares space with other shipments on a fixed route (e.g., NYC to Miami). It is cost-effective but requires flexible dates. An exclusive truck is a dedicated vehicle for your shipment alone, offering direct routing and guaranteed delivery dates.
How is artwork secured during long-distance transport?
Stability is our priority. We use a combination of custom crating, strapping, and blocking to immobilize artwork within the vehicle. We focus on preparation rather than relying on vehicle mechanics alone, ensuring each piece is packed to withstand vibration and braking forces during highway travel.
How long does cross-country art shipping take?
For consolidated shuttles, coast-to-coast art transport typically takes 10–14 days, depending on the route and stops. Exclusive transport is faster, usually taking 4–6 days for a cross-country run. We provide estimated windows when you book a domestic shipping service.
Can you pick up art from an auction house and deliver it to my home?
Yes. We regularly collect from major auction houses. We coordinate the release paperwork, perform a condition check at the loading dock, and transport the work directly to your residence.
Is my artwork insured during domestic transport?
We can arrange shipping insurance for the full value of your work. If you have your own fine art policy, we can work with your insurer to meet their specific packing and transit requirements.
How do I track my shipment?
We prioritize security and do not publish live tracking links. Instead, our logistics team monitors the vehicle internally and provides meaningful status updates to you at key milestones (pickup, departure, and arrival).
