Is insurance included in the shipping estimate?
No, transit insurance is not automatically included. It is an optional add-on service. We can provide a quote for comprehensive coverage based on the declared value of your items.
What is required to insure a shipment?
To secure full coverage, a Condition Report must be completed prior to packing, and the value must be substantiated (via a bill of sale or recent appraisal). This limitation is imposed by insurers, not by Arrow Express.
What if I pack the artwork myself (PBO)?
If an item is packed by the owner (PBO) without our inspection, insurance coverage is typically limited to Total Loss Only. This means you are covered if the item is lost, but not if it sustains minor damage inside the box.
Does insurance cover the artwork while it is in storage?
Transit insurance typically covers the item while it is moving. If you require coverage during storage at our facility, we can arrange an extension or a separate storage policy.
How are claims handled if damage occurs?
In the rare event of damage, we assist with the documentation process, including photos and preserving packing materials for inspection. Having a professional condition report from the start significantly speeds up the claims process.
